The Piping Plover Cannabis Dispensary

The Piping Plover is a locally owned, boutique style, recreational cannabis dispensary located in Wellfleet, MA. Our mission is simple: to provide our local community and its visitors access to high quality cannabis products in a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment.

Our building represents our commitment to sustainability and a high-end retail experience unlike any other. Originally built in 1820, the structure at 10 Main Street was lovingly restored by local contractors and craftsmen in preparation of our opening from 2019 to 2021. Nearly all of our building materials have been reclaimed and repurposed and we are fully solar powered… just like our cannabis!

We follow a simple philosophy of “quality” when it comes to our carefully curated menu. We only sell products that we love and enjoy!

Meet the Team

Michael Drayer is the Retail Director of The Piping Plover. While Michael is a resident of Wellfleet, he spends half of his week at our sister cultivation facility, Rhelm Cannabis in West Bridgewater. Michael has spent a lifetime cultivating cannabis both on and off the farm.

Zachary Ment is the Founder and CEO of The Piping Plover. Zac grew up lifeguarding along the beaches of The Cape and moved to Truro in 2007. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his dog Winnie, surfing, sailing and living the Cape-life to the fullest.

Emily Ment is the Creative Director of The Piping Plover. Emily was born and raised in Wellfleet and grew up lifeguarding on Wellfleet’s ocean beaches with her now husband, Zac. When Emily isn’t designing the latest Plover apparel, or showing local Real Estate, you can find her exploring the trails of Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown with her dog Winnie.

Sarah Kai Schwarz is The Manager of the Piping Plover. Sarah Kai is originally from the Seattle area and now lives in Truro. When she isn’t studying for her MBA or doing important product research, she can be found hiking through the Provincetown dunes or working in the garden.

Jim Willis is a budtender and the Gatekeeper to the Piping Plover. While he still calls himself a washashore, Jim is a long time resident of Wellfleet. He is quite the cannabis connoisseur and also makes a mean sticky bun. Be sure to ask Jim about his recommendations next time you’re at the shop!

Spenser Young is the Head Groundskeeper and a Security Agent at the Piping Plover. He lives in Wellfleet with his exotic pets. In his spare time he loves taking care of animals, landscaping and hitting up estate sales up and down the sandbar.

Gabrielle Ment wears many hats at The Piping Plover – including in house “strong man,” Garbonzo the Great. She is based out of Truro but is often on adventures near and far. When she’s not manning our deck, you can find her hanging from her toes at Truro’s own premier circus, Payomet’s Cirque by the Sea.

Kurt Anderson washed ashore after 23 years in the Navy. He lives in Eastham and enjoys doing a great variety of things, except for when he doesn’t.

Holly Williams is a washashore budtender living in Harwichport. When she is not at the Piping Plover she can be found off on an adventure with her dogs or her husband. She loves trying out new recipes on coworkers. Holly is excited to educate anyone interested about cannabis and looks forward to seeing you at the shop.

I’ve been shopping here since September 2023 and it’s been such a great experience! Staff has helped me identify strains to help with migraine pain, and on a day when I didn’t have access to my debit card, the owner was kind enough to provide a battery for me for free. It’s a small town feel with big city knowledge.

Great dispensary. Lots of variety to chose from when it comes to edibles, which is all this Aged Hippie uses. I stock up here each summer when I’m in Wellfleet because The Piping Plover, even with taxes, is a fair bit less expensive than the shops I go to in Manhattan.

I was amazed at the staff, all are very kind, polite and knowledgeable. I was really impressed with the variety of the edibles, although it would be great if they were a bit stronger. It was my first time visiting and I felt completely comfortable and was treated with the utmost respect.
