What is Rosin? – A Brief Introduction

Cannabis rosin concentrate is a type of cannabis extract that has gained popularity among cannabis enthusiasts in recent years. It is made by pressing the trichomes of the cannabis / marijuana* plant at a high pressure producing a solventless extract that is high in thc and terpenes. If you have a favorite strain, there is most certainly a thc rosin you can enjoy too.

Compared to other cannabis extracts that use solvents, such as butane or CO2, THC rosin is made using only heat and pressure. Buds can be extracted fresh or fresh-frozen, often referred to as “Live Rosin” or the buds and kief can be extracted dry. After applying heat and pressure to the buds / kief, the rosin / oil is collected and can be utilized in a couple different ways. One of the best ways to enjoy cannabis rosin is by using a vape pen. While some consumers enjoy the rosin loose, a vaporizer pen cartridge can be an easier way to enjoy the rosin without a typical water pipe and torch. However, smoking or ‘dabbing’ the rosin is also very popular. You can apply a small ‘dab’ on some buds in your pipe, or you can smoke it solo out of the bong. While the debate may still be on over Live Rosin vs Dry Rosin, the flavors and high are truly remarkable. We’ll let you be the judge!

Most of our cannabis rosin concentrate is high THC rosin for more experienced cannabis consumers. However Piping Plover generally carries an option for a cannabis rosin CBD vape pen that is good for a more relaxed, beginners’ high and for folks looking for a more medicinal marijuana* experience.

If you or someone you love is in Wellfleet, MA, our dispensary offers a variety of high-quality THC rosin products and cannabis rosin CBD vape pens that are perfect for anyone who wants to experience the wonders of solventless cannabis rosin.

* Regarding Our Use of the word “marijuana:” We want to shed light on the choice to use the term "marijuana" alongside "cannabis" in this blog. While "marijuana" is a commonly recognized term, it carries historical baggage and negative connotations. The term was historically associated with anti-cannabis propaganda that aimed to stigmatize the plant, linking it to racial and cultural prejudices. We recognize that this historical context can be offensive to some individuals, and we want to be sensitive to that.

However, despite these negative associations, many people still use the term "marijuana" when searching for information online. Our use of this term is not intended to disregard the discomfort it may cause for some, but rather to ensure that our content reaches a broader audience, including those who might not be fully aware of the evolving language and discussions surrounding cannabis. We are committed to fostering understanding and providing information that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their familiarity with the terminology.
